DEGREES AVAILABLE IN THE INSTITUTE DIVISION
ASSOCIATE OF BIBLE DEGREE
This course of study is a prerequisite for students who plan to pursue advanced studies in the Seminary Division. In addition, it offers a well-rounded study course for those who have no desire, need, or opportunity to take advanced training. It affords appropriate studies and recognition for teachers, deacons, and others who can attend school only for a limited period or part-time. Students may choose between an emphasis of Children’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, or Youth Ministry. Upon completion of 60 credit hours, the student may be presented:
- Associate of Bible Degree
- Associate of Bible, Emphasis Children’s Ministry Degree
- Associate of Bible, Emphasis Women’s Ministry Degree
- Associate of Bible, Emphasis Youth Ministry Degree
BACHELOR OF BIBLICAL STUDIES DEGREE
This course will prepare a student with a foundation of Bible and ministry skills. A student will demonstrate the ability to use the Biblical text to support their ministries as well as application to the world. Upon completion of 120 credit hours, the student may be presented:
- Bachelor of Biblical Studies Degree
- Bachelor of Biblical Studies, Emphasis Children’s Ministry Degree
- Bachelor of Biblical Studies, Emphasis Church Revitalization Degree
- Bachelor of Biblical Studies, Emphasis Missions Degree
- Bachelor of Biblical Studies, Emphasis Women’s Ministry Degree
BACHELOR OF THEOLOGY DEGREE
The Bachelor of Theology Degree will prepare a student with a foundation of Bible and ministry skills along with Biblical Languages. Language classes are required for the Master of Theology and beyond. A student will demonstrate the ability to use the Biblical text to support preaching, pastoral, mission and Christian education ministries as well as application to the world. Upon completion of 120 credit hours, the student may be presented:

Program Outcomes
Students completing the Bachelor of Theology Degree are expected to:
- Demonstrate their understanding of the organization and origins of the written Word of God as a context for translation
- Build a foundational theological framework as a basis to defend the core beliefs of the American Baptist Association and to detect false doctrines.
- Understand the structure and functioning of biblical languages and have the ability to use them for academic study.
- Build the foundation and processes to think critically regarding decisions and the use of data.
- Possess the ability to communicate personally and in a group with an understanding of people and community, relationships, and governance.
- Understand the development of humanity through history, literature, fine arts, and philosophy.
- Minister to people through the local church and the foreign field.
- Lead a biblical worship service.
- Lead in the development of a congregation that exemplifies spiritual and emotional formation.
