CERTIFICATION in Children's Ministry

A Certification in Children’s Ministry is designed for those seeking to develop and improve their teaching methods and techniques, to develop and administer a Children’s Ministry program within their local church, or to be better prepared to work with volunteers and staff in their church’s Children’s Ministry. By completing six (6) courses, you will not only complete the certification, but also earn undergraduate credit hours.

ASSOCIATE OF BIBLE - Emphasis: Children's Ministry

Purpose
The Children’s Ministry Associates program is based upon an education model with a focus that permits the student completing this course work to hold a basic biblical understanding of ministry to children and gain a basic understanding of teaching and ministry methods for leading ministries that focus on the children of the congregation as well as their parents through education, discipleship, and relationship building ministry to children and parents.

 

Program Outcomes
Students completing this course of study will exemplify the following understanding and skills:

  1. Gain an understanding of the biblical need and model for ministry to children and families and develop a philosophy of ministry for spiritual development in children.
  2. Understand and model effective teaching to children and adults.
  3. Develop leadership skills and techniques to administrate ministry programs for children and families within the local church.

BACHELOR OF ENGLISH BIBLE - Major: Children's Ministry (Launching Fall 2025)

Purpose
The Children’s Ministry program is based upon an education model that permits the student completing this course work to hold recognition of the need for biblical understanding as well as an educator charged with the responsibility to teach and lead a ministry that focuses on the children of the congregation as well as their parents through education, discipleship, and relationship building ministry to children and parents.

 

Program Outcomes
Students completing this course of student will exemplify the following understanding and skills:

  1. Lead in the development of ministries within the local church that focus on the spiritual health and development of children.
  2. Employ the understanding of the basis for effective education ministries focused on children to lead, evaluate effectiveness, identify areas of strength and weakness, and build corrective actions to address the programs’ educational effectiveness.
  3. Understand and model effective teaching to children and adults, and to structure and manage a program to educate adults to teach.
  4. Formulate the desired education program for the organization, systematically assess the effectiveness of the program, and structure corrective measures to improve determined weaknesses.
  5. Design systems to utilize effective ministry resources for planning and program development for the purpose of increasing program outcomes and to address obstacles of the ministry.
