CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
Certification Program
This program allows students to sharpen their skills in a chosen area of interest. To receive a Certification, 6 classes must be completed in a chosen area of interest. Students also earn undergraduate credit hours as they complete these courses.
Students who choose to pursue a Certification must apply as a degree-seeking student. The required classwork is the same as a degree-seeking student.
THE BIBLE INITIATIVE
The Bible Initiative Program
The Bible Initiative Program provides the opportunity to Bible leaders, Sunday school teachers and small group leaders, who desire to increase Bible knowledge, to take classes at Texas Baptist Institute and Seminary without the stress of time restraints or grades. All courses are online. Upon completion of the outlined course of study, the student will be presented with a Bible Initiative Award.
INSTITUTE DIVISION PROGRAMS
Associate of Bible Degree
This course of study is a prerequisite for students who plan to pursue advanced studies in the Seminary Division. In addition, it offers a well rounded study course for those who have no desire, need, or opportunity to take advanced training. Students may choose an emphasis of Children’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, or Youth Ministry.
Bachelor of Biblical Studies Degree
The Bachelor of Biblical Studies will prepare a student with a foundation of Bible and ministry skills. A student will demonstrate the ability to use the Biblical text to support ministries as well as application to the world. The student may choose an emphasis of Children’s Ministry, Church Revitalization, Missions, or Women’s Ministry.
Bachelor of Theology Degree
The Bachelor of Theology Degree will prepare a student with a foundation of Bible and Ministry skills for preaching and pastoral ministries along with Biblical Languages. Language classes are required for the Master of Theology and beyond. A student will demonstrate the ability to use Biblical text to support ministries as well as application to the world.
SEMINARY DIVISION PROGRAMS
Master’s Degree Program
After the completion of the Bachelor of Theology Degree, a student may continue studies on a Master’s level.
Master of English Bible
The Master of English Bible is a one-year program that prepares a student for teaching, preaching, and pastoral ministry.
Master of Theological Studies
The Master of Theological Studies is a two-year program requiring 54 graduate hours of study. The student selects one emphasis from three possible programs: Preaching, Pastoral Ministry, or Christian Education. Both biblical languages are required prior to admission.
Master of Divinity
The MDiv is designed as a three-year master’s degree satisfying the graduate education needs of a pastor in a local church or para-church organization. Both biblical languages are required prior to admission.
Doctorate Program
The Doctor of Ministry Program is designed to equip the graduate needs of individuals serving in a church or higher education setting. The graduate will gain skills to preach, teach, and minister at advanced levels.
